Jessie Adcock, the lead for the Vancouver host committee for the 2026 World Cup, highlighted the festival’s commitment to delivering an unparalleled viewing experience for free, making it the premier location in British Columbia for fans to soak in the spirit of the tournament.
A Prime Location for Festivities
The fan zone will be situated at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) grounds in Hastings Park, featuring a multitude of large screens for spectators to catch all the action. Food and drink vendors will abound, alongside family-friendly activities designed to engage fans of all ages. “This will encompass the PNE area, excluding Playland,” Adcock explained. “It will be the inaugural large-scale festival to utilise the new amphitheatre, transforming the site into a lively hub of celebration.”
Adcock further elaborated on the transformation of the venue, stating, “We will activate the entire site, turning parking lots and buildings into vibrant spaces for entertainment, while bringing the gardens and various areas to life.”
Premium Viewing Experiences
Central to this fan festival will be the Freedom Mobile Arch Amphitheatre, which is set to be ready in time for the event. This venue will offer a selection of premium ticket options, enhancing the spectator experience during the matches. Adcock revealed, “The amphitheatre presents a unique opportunity to provide varied premium experiences, including options for group hosting, diverse food and drink selections, and reserved seating.”
Details regarding the pricing for these premium tickets are yet to be announced, but the general admission to the fan zone will be free. “Our aim is to create an inclusive, accessible, and affordable festival for families,” Adcock emphasised. “We are aware that tickets for the actual matches are in high demand across all 16 host cities, and part of our mission with the fan festival is to ensure a welcoming space for everyone.”
