In a shocking incident, three tourists were found dead in a rental home near Kissimmee, Florida, in what appears to be a random and senseless act of violence. The victims, identified as Robert Lewis Kraft, 70, of Holland, Michigan, and his brother Douglas Joseph Kraft, 68, of Columbus, Ohio, were reportedly stranded at the rental property due to car trouble when the tragic shooting occurred.
According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the third victim’s identity is still being withheld as authorities work to notify the family. The suspect, 29-year-old Ahmad Jihad Bojeh, was arrested at his nearby home, where two firearms were recovered for further investigation.
Sheriff Christopher Blackmon stated that Bojeh was a “known person” to the sheriff’s office, with a history of frequent calls for service in the area. “As of right now, we have nothing. It just looks like a random – but again, the investigation, you know, it’s ongoing. It’s fresh, it’s new. We’re just a little bit over 24 hours into it, so we’re trying to gather the facts,” Blackmon said during a news conference.
The shooting occurred in a popular tourist area near Walt Disney World and nearby golf courses, leaving residents shaken. “It’s a little concerning,” said local resident Adam Andersen. “I have a daughter, thank God she’s not here. It’s concerning, especially that this individual was shot publicly in an open area like a gas station over a simple thing as an argument and was released. It’s scary but not surprising, you know.”
Court records reveal that Bojeh was previously arrested in 2021 for allegedly firing at a person and random vehicles in a Wawa gas station parking lot in Kissimmee, injuring one man who survived. He was later acquitted by reason of insanity.
Bojeh appeared in court on Sunday, where a judge found probable cause to hold him at the Osceola County Jail without bond. He is charged with three counts of murder.
The tragic incident has left the local community in shock and mourning the loss of the three tourists who were simply trying to enjoy their vacation. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact motive and circumstances surrounding this senseless act of violence.
