President Donald Trump has departed the United States and is en route to Davos, Switzerland, where he is set to attend the annual World Economic Forum. The President boarded a new aircraft at 12:02 a.m., according to the White House press pool.

Reporters on the scene described a flurry of activity as the plane’s crew hurried to load and unload various items, including boxes of fruit, wrapped sandwiches, and beverages. Several suitcases were also seen being removed from the aircraft and placed onto a waiting truck.

This visit to Davos marks the President’s second appearance at the high-profile economic summit. Last year, he delivered a speech highlighting the strength of the American economy and his “America First” policy. This year, he is expected to continue promoting the administration’s economic achievements while also addressing global challenges such as trade, climate change, and geopolitical tensions.

The decision to attend the Davos forum has raised some eyebrows, given the President’s previous criticism of the event as a gathering of global elites. However, the White House has emphasized the importance of the President engaging with world leaders and business executives to advance American interests on the international stage.

During his time in Davos, the President is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with several foreign leaders, including British Prime Minister Theresa May and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He is also expected to participate in a panel discussion on the global economy.

The trip to Davos comes at a crucial time for the Trump administration, as it grapples with a partial government shutdown, ongoing trade negotiations with China, and the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. The President will undoubtedly use the platform to showcase his economic policies and to defend his “America First” approach to foreign policy.

As the President departs for Switzerland, all eyes will be on his interactions with world leaders and his ability to navigate the complex geopolitical landscape of the Davos forum.
