In a brazen daylight robbery, a group of armed suspects targeted a prestigious Rolex boutique in the heart of Knightsbridge, London, making off with a number of high-value watches.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when six individuals wearing motorcycle helmets forced their way into the Bucherer boutique, threatening staff and members of the public with weapons, including machetes. The robbers used a stolen motorcycle to ram the store’s entrance before fleeing the scene on four mopeds parked outside.
Despite the dramatic nature of the raid, no one was reported injured. The Metropolitan Police’s Flying Squad is now working “at pace” to trace the suspects and has appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation.
“This robbery was carried out in a busy part of London, and we understand the alarm it has caused,” said Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather from the Flying Squad. “Our officers are working to identify and arrest those responsible.”
The police were alerted to the incident shortly before 11:00 GMT, and officers were on the scene within minutes. Investigators are now piecing together the offenders’ movements in a bid to bring the perpetrators to justice as swiftly as possible.
“We are determined to find those involved and bring them to justice as quickly as possible,” Mather added.
The Metropolitan Police have urged anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact them immediately. The force has also asked the public to follow BBC London on social media for the latest updates on the investigation.
