Tritta’s conviction comes after he engaged in explicit conversations and shared indecent images with the victim, prompting urgent calls from her mother for parents to monitor their children’s online interactions more closely.
The Grooming Process
The harrowing case began in September 2024 when Tritta initiated contact with the girl, who resides in the Manchester area, while playing Roblox. Following their initial interaction, he swiftly moved their conversations to other messaging apps, including Snapchat, Discord, and WhatsApp. Over time, Tritta escalated the nature of their communications, engaging in “highly sexualised” discussions and sending intimate images that left the young girl vulnerable and confused.
The situation came to light in August 2025 when the victim’s mother discovered inappropriate messages and explicit content on her daughter’s phone. Alarmed, she alerted the authorities, leading to Tritta’s arrest. However, his subsequent actions demonstrated a blatant disregard for the law; he attempted to visit the girl’s home to persuade her to withdraw her complaint.
Court Proceedings and Sentencing
During the proceedings at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, prosecutor Rachel Yarwood described a disturbing pattern of behaviour exhibited by Tritta. Despite being aware of the ongoing investigation, he trespassed into the victim’s home, confronted her, and attempted to intimidate her into silence. Prosecutor Yarwood stated, “He also sent her letters, attempted to contact her by phone and made attempts to frustrate the criminal investigation.”
Initially, Tritta received a suspended sentence of 12 months for perverting the course of justice. However, his persistent harassment led to a return to court, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including producing indecent images, sexual communication with a minor, and witness intimidation.
In her victim impact statement, the young girl expressed feelings of entrapment and fear, stating she was “scared of going downstairs at night.” Her mother echoed these sentiments, revealing that their home, once a sanctuary, now felt unsafe and fraught with anxiety.

“I don’t feel safe in my own house,” she lamented, detailing the lengths they have had to go to ensure safety, including installing cameras and altering their routines. She urged other parents to scrutinise the applications their children use, particularly those designed for younger audiences, such as Roblox.
“I thought it was just a child’s game,” she said, reflecting on her naivety. “But I never considered that older individuals would be grooming children through these platforms.”
Detective Constable Jodi Bartlett, who investigated the case, reinforced the mother’s warnings, stating, “Tritta’s behaviour lays bare the terrifying realities of how criminals use the online world to target and harm vulnerable people.”
