Mali’s defence minister, Sadio Camara, tragically lost his life in a terrorist attack on his home over the weekend, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing violence from insurgent groups in the region. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, involved a suicide car bomb targeting Camara’s residence in Kati, a town situated approximately 15 kilometres north of the capital, Bamako.
