In a distressing incident in Golders Green, north London, two Jewish men were attacked and stabbed in what police have classified as a terrorist act. The victims, aged 34 and 76, are currently stable in hospital following the assault, while a 45-year-old suspect has been arrested. This attack is part of a troubling pattern of recent violence targeting the Jewish community in London.

Details of the Attack

On Wednesday, at approximately 11:16 BST, Metropolitan Police responded to reports of stabbings on Highfield Avenue, just off Golders Green Road. CCTV footage captured the suspect, identified as Essa Suleiman, jogging towards Golders Green Road just before the attack. The recordings show him pursuing one victim before launching a more brutal assault on another man at a bus stop.

As the situation escalated, police were quick to intervene. Video evidence shows officers deploying a Taser to subdue Suleiman after he refused to comply with commands to drop his weapon. Following his arrest, the suspect was initially taken to hospital but has since been discharged and is now in police custody.

The Victims

The victims of this shocking attack have been named as Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76. Both men were treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
