On Tuesday, 5 May 2026, Craig Silvey, a 43-year-old acclaimed novelist, admitted to two charges concerning the possession of inappropriate material. Prosecutors have since dropped two additional charges, including one alleging that he produced such material between February and June 2022. Silvey’s arrest in January stemmed from a police raid at his Fremantle home, where investigators from the child abuse squad confiscated several electronic devices.
