The Argentine Health Ministry has reported a concerning spike in hantavirus infections, with 101 cases identified since June 2025, more than double the number recorded during the same timeframe last year. This alarming rise coincides with a health crisis aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship, where several passengers have tested positive for the Andes virus, a variant responsible for severe respiratory illness.
