In Toronto, where the Exhibition Place Stadium will host six matches—including Canada’s opening game—Canada Post has identified specific postal codes likely to experience delays. Residents in the M6K, M6J, and M5V areas should prepare for potential service interruptions during the event. The postal service reassured customers that any undelivered mail will be secured at their depot and prioritised for the next business day’s delivery.
Additionally, several post offices, including those located at 390 Queens Quay W., 761 King St. W., 119 Ossington Ave., and 1093 Queen St. W., may face temporary processing delays on match days. Canada Post also announced that street letter boxes within the event zones will be removed until July 22, with customers encouraged to utilise the post office on Queen Street for mailing needs.
The six matches scheduled in Toronto will occur on June 12, June 17, June 20, June 23, June 26, and July 2.
Vancouver’s Unique Challenges
In Vancouver, Canada Post expects a different level of disruption, particularly around the BC Place Stadium, where seven matches will take place. The postal service plans to clear and seal multiple mailboxes near the venues prior to each match, including weekends. Mailboxes will be re-opened for use the following business day.
Fortunately, Canada Post has indicated that residents with postal codes starting with V6A, V6B, and V6Z should not anticipate service interruptions. Businesses in the vicinity of the event locations will continue to receive regular mail services, and three post offices—located at 238 Robson St., 1173 – 88 West Pender St., and 495 West Georgia St.—will maintain normal operations throughout the tournament.
