In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Abdulmanon Aliev, a 50-year-old man from Tajikistan, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl on a train. The incident took place on 16 June 2025, as the victim was travelling from Southend to London. The British Transport Police (BTP) reported that he subjected her to a prolonged assault until the train reached London Fenchurch Street. It was at this station that the girl managed to escape and immediately sought help by boarding another train.
Following the incident, Aliev evaded capture for nearly two weeks. His arrest came on 27 June 2025, when plain-clothes officers spotted him in Peckham. A subsequent search of his residence led to the seizure of clothing he had worn during the assault, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.

Aliev was charged the day after his arrest and was ultimately found guilty in April 2026 of multiple counts, including attempted rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and three counts of sexual assault. On 23 June 2026, he received his sentence at Inner London Crown Court, which included an additional two years on licence following his prison term. Furthermore, he has been placed on the sex offender register for life.
