As of Thursday morning, six fatalities have been confirmed at the mall site, with emergency personnel working diligently to search for missing individuals.
In the nearby Yatsushiro area, a chimney collapse at a Nippon Paper Industries factory resulted in the rescue of ten workers, but tragically, eight lives were lost. The Japanese government has mobilised resources to support ongoing rescue operations, with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi pledging the central government’s commitment to restoring essential services and ensuring the safety of affected communities.
