Her early fascination with the sea began at just three years old during a family holiday in New Jersey, where the allure of the ocean first captivated her. “I remember hearing the waves crashing on the beach and the unique smell of salt in the air,” she recalled.
Earle’s deep-sea adventures have been profound; she famously lived underwater for seven months as part of the Tektite II project in 1970. Today, she is focused on changing the narrative around submersibles following the tragic Titan disaster in 2023, which claimed the lives of five individuals during an ill-fated expedition to the Titanic wreck.
