The story of Bob Coveiro is one that resonates deeply with many. After the death of his owner in 2011, this brown long-haired mixed-breed dog refused to leave her grave at a cemetery in Taboão da Serra, a municipality located just outside São Paulo. Despite numerous attempts by family members to bring him home, Bob’s loyalty prevailed; he remained at the site, eventually becoming a beloved figure among the cemetery staff who took him in, providing him with shelter, food, and care.
Bob’s presence became a source of comfort for grieving families attending funerals. He was often seen carrying a small ball in his mouth, a gesture many interpreted as an effort to lighten the sorrow around him. Tragically, Bob’s life came to an end in 2021 when he was struck by a motorcycle.
