In a shocking turn of events, Barron Trump, the youngest son of former US President Donald Trump, has been credited with saving the life of a British woman who was allegedly being viciously attacked by her ex-boyfriend. The 19-year-old’s quick thinking and call to emergency services in the United States is said to have alerted authorities and potentially prevented a tragic outcome.

The incident occurred in January 2025 when the woman, who has not been named, was allegedly assaulted by her former partner, 22-year-old Matvei Rumiantsev, a former MMA fighter. The court heard that Barron was speaking to the woman on FaceTime when he witnessed the vicious attack and immediately dialled 999 to report the incident.

Prosecutors allege that Rumiantsev, a Russian-born East London man, flew into a jealous rage over the woman’s friendship with Barron. The court was played a recording of Barron’s 999 call, in which he pleaded with the operator, saying, “It’s really an emergency, please. I got a call from her with a guy beating her up.”

The emergency operator urged Barron to answer questions clearly and precisely, to which he replied, “I met her on social media. She’s getting really badly beat up and the call was about eight minutes ago, I don’t know what could have happened by now.” Barron later apologised for being “rude” during the call.

Police were dispatched to the address, and bodycam footage showed officers arriving and questioning the woman, who then revealed that she was friends with Barron Trump, the son of the former US President. One officer was heard telling a colleague, “So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son.”

In a statement to the court, the woman said, “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment.” She also alleged that Rumiantsev had assaulted her, including by strangling, after they got into an argument, and that he had raped her twice – once in November 2024 and again just hours before the police arrived.

Rumiantsev’s barrister, Sasha Was KC, challenged the woman’s account in court, accusing her of fabricating the claims and alleging that the defendant had only restrained her after she behaved “in an angry and violent way” towards him. However, the woman firmly denied the allegations, stating, “I didn’t invent that. That would be completely evil and disgraceful toward people who have been in that situation.”

The trial is ongoing, and the court will continue to hear the evidence presented by both sides. Barron Trump’s quick action in contacting emergency services has been widely praised, with the woman describing his intervention as a “sign from God” that potentially saved her life.
