In an open letter, these advocates assert that Zeldin has fundamentally undermined the agency’s mission to safeguard human health and the environment, claiming that his leadership has set back progress on crucial climate initiatives.

The letter, organised by prominent advocacy groups such as the Climate Action Campaign and Moms Clean Air Force, describes Zeldin’s actions as a significant departure from both the Democratic and Republican administrations that preceded him. “No EPA administrator in history has so brazenly betrayed the agency’s core mission,” the letter states.
