UK households are expressing increasing anxiety about the economy, as a recent measure of consumer confidence reveals a significant decline since the onset of the conflict in the Middle East. The GfK consumer confidence index has fallen two points to -21 in March, marking the lowest level since the introduction of substantial import tariffs by former President Donald Trump in April of last year.
