Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has received the green light to return to football activities after experiencing a cardiac arrest during a game in January. Speaking to reporters for the first time since the incident, Hamlin revealed that his health scare was caused by commotio cordis, a rare condition where a strong impact to the chest disrupts the heart’s electrical rhythm. This revelation comes as the 25-year-old prepares to rejoin his team for the upcoming season.
A Terrifying Moment on the Field
On January 2, during a high-stakes match against the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin collapsed on the field after making a tackle. The incident stunned fans and players alike, as millions watched live. “I died on national TV in front of the whole world,” Hamlin recounted. “I lost a bunch of people in my life. I know a bunch of people who lost people in their lives. I know that feeling. That right there is the biggest blessing of it all—for me to still have my people and my people to still have me.”
Since that harrowing day, Hamlin has been on a remarkable journey towards recovery. He has been spotted at the Bills’ practice facility in Orchard
