In a significant enforcement action aimed at safeguarding minors online, Ofcom has levied an £800,000 fine against Kick Online Entertainment SA for failing to implement adequate age verification measures on its pornography site. This penalty follows an investigation that revealed non-compliance with age-check regulations between July 25 and December 29 last year, coinciding with the introduction of new online safety protections for children.

Additionally, Ofcom imposed a further fine of £30,000 for the company’s failure to respond adequately and promptly to information requests. In an effort to ensure compliance, Ofcom declared it would instate a daily fine of £200 until the company fully addressed the requested information or for a maximum duration of 60 days.
