A series of arrests have been made following a shooting incident in Urmston, Greater Manchester, which left a 21-year-old man in a critical condition. The police have acted swiftly to apprehend the suspects and assure the public that the situation is under control.

According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the initial incident occurred on Friday evening at around 8:40 pm on Higher Road in Urmston. The 21-year-old victim was shot and is currently in a stable but critical condition in the hospital.

In the aftermath of the shooting, two more individuals, aged 21 and 28, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. This follows the arrest of an 18-year-old on Monday for the same offence.

Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant of GMP stated, “These additional arrests mark meaningful progress and send a clear message that violence will not be tolerated.” He further reassured the community, saying, “We believe this to be an isolated incident which poses no further risk to the public.”

To enhance safety and visibility in the area, the police have promised an increased number of patrols. DCI Bryant urged residents with any concerns or queries to approach the officers, who will be available to provide support.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and the police are encouraging anyone with information or potential leads to come forward and assist with the inquiry.

This incident has understandably caused concern within the Urmston community, but the swift action taken by the authorities suggests that they are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents. The public is advised to remain vigilant but also to cooperate with the police as they work to resolve this matter.
