In a shocking turn of events, former Spandau Ballet frontman Ross Davidson has strongly denied the rape allegations made against him, describing them as “out-and-out lies.” The 37-year-old singer is currently on trial, accused of raping a woman while she was asleep in London in March 2015, as well as attempting to rape and sexually assault a tourist in Thailand in December 2019.

During cross-examination at the Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, Davidson rejected the claims, stating that the woman’s account is “completely false.” He asserted that there was “no spark” between them and that they did not even sleep in the same bed or room. The singer also denied the prosecution’s suggestion that he had used a bondage collar on the alleged victim, saying he had not even taken it out of its box.

The woman had also claimed that Davidson told her he wanted to have sex with a person in a “still, lifeless, unresponsive” state, similar to a mannequin. However, the singer responded by suggesting that the woman had likely come up with this allegation after watching a series about the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Despite previously having flirted and engaged in video sex with the woman, Davidson maintained that there was no chemistry when she came to London in 2015. The Aberdeen-born musical theatre actor described himself as “sex-positive,” emphasizing the importance of “open dialogue” and an “openness to trying different sexual appetites.”

The trial is ongoing, and the jury will have to weigh the conflicting accounts and decide on the veracity of the allegations against the former Spandau Ballet singer. As the case continues to unfold, the public will be watching closely to see how it ultimately concludes.
