In a concerning incident that has shaken the local community, a man was shot in the leg during a targeted attack in Manchester’s city centre. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning on Richmond Street, with police and forensic teams quickly arriving at the scene.
According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the victim, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, was shot around 5:00 am GMT. Six men, aged between 23 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and firearms offences and are currently in police custody for questioning.
Superintendent Stephen Wiggins of GMP stated that the authorities believe this was a targeted attack and that there is no wider threat to the general public. He appealed to anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and contact the police.
