Various Eateries, the hospitality group renowned for its Coppa Club and Noci venues, is embarking on an ambitious expansion plan, announcing a rebranding to become the Coppa Collective. This strategic move coincides with their acquisition of a selection of pubs, marking a significant shift in focus as they aim to tap into the UK’s vibrant pub sector.
New Name, New Ventures
The announcement was made alongside a deal to purchase a portfolio of pubs with rooms from Grosvenor Pubs and Inns. The initial acquisition includes four charming locations: Wild Thyme & Honey in the picturesque Cotswolds, The Hare & Hounds in Berkshire, The Stag on the River in Surrey, and The Wellington Arms in Hampshire. The deal is expected to be completed around 23 March, with discussions underway for a potential fifth site, The Queen’s Head, also in Surrey.
This rebranding to the Coppa Collective is not just a name change; it represents a broader vision for the group. As part of this transition, Various Eateries will also introduce a new brand called The Linwood Collection, aimed at enhancing their offerings in the premium pub market.
Financial Commitment and Community Process
The financial commitment for the initial four pubs is set at £11.25 million, a significant investment that underscores the group’s confidence in the potential of these establishments. However, the acquisition of The Queen’s Head involves a community asset process, meaning it cannot be sold until the necessary statutory notifications and a six-week moratorium period have elapsed.

Mark Loughborough, CEO of Various Eateries, expressed optimism about the new venture. He noted, “Linwood marks an important step in the evolution of the group. We are bringing into the business a small collection of premium pubs with rooms that have earned their reputations the right way, through great hospitality, careful attention to detail and a real sense of place.”

This move follows a recent announcement indicating the company’s interest in merger and acquisition opportunities to accelerate growth.
