In a concerning development, the Metropolitan Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an alleged rape that occurred in a London property last year. The incident was reported to the authorities on Friday, April 25, 2025, with officers launching a thorough investigation into the claims.
According to Detective Superintendent Chris Heathcote, detectives have carried out a wide range of enquiries, including speaking with witnesses in the area and reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify a suspect. The victim, a woman, continues to receive specialist support from officers and partner agencies as the probe remains ongoing.
“From the moment this was reported, detectives have carried out a wide range of enquiries, including speaking with witnesses in the area and reviewing CCTV to identify a suspect,” Heathcote stated. “These enquiries have been in parallel with the support specialist officers have given to a woman, along with our partner agencies.”
Heathcote went on to emphasise the importance of the public’s assistance, urging anyone who may recognise the individual pictured or have any further information to come forward immediately. Members of the public can contact the police by calling 101 and quoting reference 01/7419053/25, or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“We understand the strength it takes for someone to report a sexual offence to us and remain committed to investigating violence against women and girls with the utmost sensitivity and diligence,” the senior officer added.
The investigation into the alleged rape in Tulse Hill, SW2, remains ongoing, with the Metropolitan Police determined to bring the perpetrator to justice and provide the necessary support to the victim throughout this difficult process.
