Tragic Loss in Crawford County
The body of Faith Gregory, a resident of Huzzah Creek in Crawford County, was discovered on Saturday morning, approximately 1.8 miles downstream from where her home was washed away. Gregory had been reported missing after the deluge struck the area. In a statement, the Crawford County sheriff’s office expressed profound sorrow, stating, “This is not the outcome that any of us were hoping for. Our thoughts and prayers are with Faith’s family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic loss.” Fortunately, all other individuals reported missing in the county have been accounted for, alleviating some of the anxiety gripping local communities.

The National Weather Service (NWS) had issued flash flood warnings across the region as relentless thunderstorms battered the area. The severe weather system not only impacted Missouri but also extended its reach into several neighbouring states, raising concerns of widespread flash flooding and damaging winds.
