In a significant development, Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, is contemplating the initiation of a public inquiry into the UK activities of the notorious convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Davies-Jones assured viewers that the Prime Minister is taking these matters seriously and is in a position to access critical information that could guide the government’s response.
Ongoing Investigations into Al Fayed
In tandem with the proposed inquiry into Epstein, the government is also contemplating a separate investigation into the allegations surrounding Al Fayed. The late businessman has faced more than 400 allegations of sexual abuse from 1977 to 2014, which include serious claims of rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. These allegations have prompted action from the Metropolitan Police, who are investigating reports from at least 156 complainants, including 21 who came forward prior to Al Fayed’s passing in 2023.
