Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced plans to finalise a significant trade agreement with India by the close of 2023. “Our nations are natural partners,” Carney affirmed, referencing the two million Canadians of Indian descent who contribute to various sectors in Canada. He framed the trade relationship as mutually beneficial, promising that Canadian companies could leverage access to the U.S. market while also engaging robustly in the Indian economy.
