In a significant diplomatic response, Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand summoned Israel’s ambassador to discuss the recent interception of a humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza, which included Canadian activists. The flotilla was halted by Israeli forces in international waters on Tuesday and subsequently escorted to an Israeli port. Minister Anand expressed grave concern regarding the treatment of those aboard, emphasising the necessity of upholding human dignity in such situations.
