To mitigate the impact, any undelivered mail will be securely held at the nearest Canada Post depot and prioritised for delivery on the next business day. Additionally, post offices located at 390 Queens Quay W., 761 King St. W., 119 Ossington Ave., and 1093 Queen St. W. may face processing delays on match days.
Canada Post also announced that it would temporarily remove street letter boxes within the tournament’s boundaries, with plans to restore them on July 22. For those needing to send mail, the post office at 1093 Queen St. W. will remain operational throughout the event.
Vancouver Prepares for Mailbox Closures
In a similar vein, Canada Post anticipates a different level of disruption in Vancouver, where BC Place will host seven matches, starting with the first on June 13. To ensure the smooth flow of operations during this high-profile event, the postal service plans to seal several mailboxes around the fan festival and stadium before each match day. Mailboxes will reopen the following business day for regular use.
However, Canada Post has reassured residents with postal codes beginning with V6A, V6B, and V6Z that they should not expect any service interruptions. Moreover, commercial customers located near event areas will continue to receive uninterrupted service. The three post offices situated at 238 Robson St., 1173 – 88 West Pender St., and 495 West Georgia St. will maintain normal operations.
