The postal service anticipates these disruptions may occur between June 11 and July 19, especially at locations near the vibrant FIFA fan festivals and stadiums hosting the matches.

In Toronto, where excitement is mounting for the tournament, Canada Post has identified specific postal codes—M6K, M6J, and M5V—likely to experience delays. The postal service reassured customers that any undelivered mail would be securely held at their depot and prioritised for delivery the following business day.
The city’s Exhibition Place will be buzzing with activity as it plays host to six games, with Canada’s national team set to make its debut on June 12. Additionally, local fan festivals will be held at Fort York and the Bentway, drawing large crowds and further impacting postal services.
To minimise disruptions during match days, Canada Post has warned that several post offices, including those located at 390 Queens Quay W., 761 King St. W., 119 Ossington Ave., and 1093 Queen St. W., may face temporary delays in mail processing and delivery. Furthermore, street letter boxes in the vicinity will be temporarily removed until July 22, with the recommendation for patrons to utilise the post office at 1093 Queen St. W. for mailing needs.
Vancouver’s Preparedness for the World Cup
Canada Post is bracing for a different level of disruption in Vancouver, where it plans to proactively seal and clear several mailboxes ahead of each match day, including weekends. This pre-emptive measure is aimed at ensuring the security of mail while also accommodating the influx of fans expected in the area.
The matches at BC Place include seven scheduled events on June 13, June 18, June 21, June 24, June 26, July 2, and July 7. Despite the anticipated challenges, Canada Post has stated that customers with postal codes starting with V6A, V6B, and V6Z should not expect any service interruptions. Additionally, commercial clients near the event locations will continue to receive uninterrupted service.
Three post offices located at 238 Robson St., 1173 – 88 West Pender St., and 495 West Georgia St. will maintain their regular operations throughout the tournament.
