The national postal service cautioned residents that these minor delays will coincide with the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19, particularly affecting locations near fan festivals and stadiums.

In Toronto, the bustling city is set to be a focal point for World Cup activities, with the Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place hosting six matches, including the Canadian men’s team’s debut on June 12. Canada Post has identified specific postal codes—M6K, M6J, and M5V—that may experience delays.
“Any mail not delivered will be held securely at the Canada Post depot and prioritised for delivery the next business day,” the service explained in a statement. Residents are advised that post offices located at 390 Queens Quay W., 761 King St. W., 119 Ossington Ave., and 1093 Queen St. W. might also face temporary delays in mail processing on match days.
To further accommodate the influx of visitors and ensure safety, Canada Post will remove street letter boxes within the event boundaries until July 22. Customers can still drop off mail at the designated post office at 1093 Queen St. W. Importantly, no pickups will occur near the FIFA Fan Festival and Toronto Stadium on the days of matches.
The games in Toronto are scheduled for June 12, June 17, June 20, June 23, June 26, and July 2.
Vancouver’s Preparations for World Cup Matches
Shifting westward, Vancouver is gearing up for its own World Cup excitement, with BC Place set to host seven matches throughout the tournament. Canada Post has indicated that it anticipates a different level of disruption in this city compared to Toronto.
In preparation, the postal service will seal off several mailboxes located near the fan festival and stadium in advance of all match days, including weekends. These mailboxes will reopen for use the following business day, ensuring residents can resume mailing items without prolonged disruption.
Canada Post reassured customers with postal codes starting with V6A, V6B, and V6Z that they should not experience any delivery service interruptions. Furthermore, commercial customers in the vicinity of event locations can expect their services to remain unaffected, with three post offices—located at 238 Robson St., 1173–88 West Pender St., and 495 West Georgia St.—continuing to operate as normal.
The matches in Vancouver will take place on June 13, June 18, June 21, June 24, June 26, July 2, and July 7.
