National Handgun Sales Freeze
In a bold move to further tighten gun control, the Canadian government instituted a national freeze on the sale and purchase of handguns, which came into effect in October 2022. This measure, however, does not impact those who were already licensed to carry handguns or individuals participating in shooting sports recognised by the International Olympic Committee or International Paralympic Committee.
