Among the chaos of people, Greenhough spotted a lifeguard shelter that stood out with its minimalist serenity. “I saw this calm scene suspended above thousands of people and thought, ‘Oh, look at that, I need to take a picture!’” he recalls, a smile creeping into his voice. His daughter, blissfully unaware of the photographic significance, simply continued her quest for ice-cream.
In a fleeting second, the lifeguard shifted, and the scene transformed. For Greenhough, it was a “decisive moment”—a term often used in photography to describe that brief instant when everything aligns perfectly.

Later that evening, after savouring their ice-cream, Greenhough turned to Lightroom to refine his shot. “I tend to use presets as a starting point,” he explains. “The way I perceive a scene can differ from what the camera captures, so I adjusted the vibrancy of the yellows and reds, and tweaked the hue of the blue sky to create harmony.”
His intention was clear. “I hope it gives people a sense of peace and security. Perhaps they, like me, can feel the warmth of the sun,” he shares.
