“I love to be close to nature, so I was always drawn to macro photography and animals and pets,” Sheriff explains. His smartphone has become an invaluable tool, allowing him to capture spontaneous moments with remarkable clarity, even in the most unexpected settings.

“I filled a white ceramic bowl and carefully placed the fish inside,” Sheriff recounts. “This is a crowntail betta fish, named for its fins that resemble crowns, but people often refer to it as a fighter fish.” The artful process involved submerging his phone in water, turning it upside down to utilise the zoom and macro modes, thereby revealing intricate details of the fish’s vibrant colours and unique features.
