Alarming Allegations Surface
The decision to withdraw *Married At First Sight UK* comes in the wake of serious accusations made by three women, each detailing distressing experiences with their on-screen partners. One of the women, who has chosen to remain anonymous and is referred to as Lizzie, recounted a horrifying ordeal where she claims her on-screen husband raped her and threatened her with an acid attack. Lizzie is now pursuing legal action against the production company, CPL, which produces the show for Channel 4.
During a segment on BBC Panorama, an actress stood in for Lizzie, bravely sharing her experience. “When we were alone in the apartment, he kept bruising me during sex. I kept saying stop, but he carried on,” she revealed, highlighting the ongoing trauma she has faced.
In a separate account, another participant, known as Chloe, alleged that she informed both Channel 4 and CPL prior to the airing of her episodes about the abuse she suffered. Chloe described an incident where her on-screen husband groped her while she was asleep and another where he continued to have sex with her despite her clear refusal. “By that time, I’d really given up… I just didn’t want him to be angry at me when the cameras came,”
