In the wake of Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) stunning victory over Arsenal in the Champions League final, France has been plunged into turmoil, resulting in widespread clashes between exuberant football fans and law enforcement. The unrest has led to injuries among hundreds, with significant disruptions to public transport and a heightened police presence across the capital.

Unrest Across the Nation

The celebrations quickly turned chaotic as thousands of supporters took to the streets, igniting clashes that left 219 people injured, including 57 police officers. Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reported that eight individuals suffered serious injuries amid the turmoil, which erupted shortly after PSG secured their victory.

The violence prompted an extensive police response, with 6,000 officers deployed to manage the situation, especially in Paris, where public transport systems were severely affected. The clashes not only disrupted bus, train, and rail services but also created a tense atmosphere in the city as fans celebrated their team’s success.
