In 2014, she fled to Thailand to escape the dangers posed by her beliefs and political stance. Last year, she was elected as one of 15 representatives to the Toronto-based dissident “Hong Kong Parliament,” a group formed by exiled pro-democracy supporters from Hong Kong.
