In a significant development, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has made six more arrests in connection with the murder of Wayne Reid in Coleraine. The 43-year-old victim’s body was discovered at a property in Society Court on Monday, leading to a major investigation.

The latest arrests include two women, aged 38 and 45, who were apprehended on Saturday on suspicion of murder. Additionally, three women aged 28, 33, and 39, along with a 41-year-old man, were arrested on Friday on the same charge and remain in police custody.

This follows the earlier arrest of a 33-year-old man on Wednesday, who also remains in custody. Police have been granted an additional 36 hours to question him, as they believe Mr. Reid may have been involved in an altercation sometime between Thursday, January 8th, and Saturday, January 10th, in either Society Court or Society Street.

The body of the father of one, who had ties to Scotland, was discovered when police and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) were called to the property in Society Court around 11:30 GMT on Monday. Tragically, Mr. Reid was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into this tragic incident continues, with the PSNI working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mr. Reid’s death. The community in Coleraine has been left shaken by the news, and the authorities have urged anyone with information that could assist the inquiry to come forward.

As the case progresses, the public can expect updates from the PSNI as they work to bring those responsible for this heinous crime to justice. The loss of a life is always a somber occasion, and the thoughts of the nation are with Mr. Reid’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
