Elon Musk, the innovative mind behind Tesla and SpaceX, has ignited a firestorm of controversy with his recent social media activity focused on race. In a span of just six months, the billionaire has posted over 850 times about racial issues on his X platform, raising eyebrows and fractures within his dedicated fan base. As his commentary veers into contentious territory, questions arise about the implications for his business ventures and the loyalty of his supporters.

A Surge in Race-Related Posts

Since October, Musk’s engagement with racial topics has skyrocketed, with approximately six per cent of his posts touching on race-related themes. Notably, half of these include the term “white,” according to an analysis by The Washington Post. For instance, on December 11, 2025, Musk controversially stated, “They’re openly advocating White genocide,” while sharing a video compilation concerning U.S. migration. This was followed by an equally provocative post on April 14, 2026, where he remarked, “They are calling for the genocide of Whites,” in response to footage from a protest in South Africa.
