The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran has escalated dramatically following a series of military strikes and retaliatory actions in the Middle East. In a statement released by US Central Command (Centcom), the military confirmed that it had launched airstrikes on Qeshm Island, strategically located in the Strait of Hormuz.
