Lake Powell, the second-largest reservoir in the United States, has reached unprecedented low water levels, intensifying concerns over water availability across the southwestern states. As of Sunday, August 16, 2026, the reservoir’s elevation plummeted to 3,519.8 feet, surpassing its previous record low set in April 2023.
