The judge’s order stated, “The Court finds that it cannot deny bail to Glossip while adhering to the clear constitutional mandate.”
In her ruling, Judge Mai noted a statement made by Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond in 2023, which acknowledged the weaknesses in Glossip’s case. Drummond had previously indicated that while Glossip could still be guilty of first-degree murder, the evidence did not support a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.
Glossip walked out of jail wearing casual attire, visibly emotional as he was reunited with his wife, Lea Glossip. “I’m just thankful for my wife and my attorneys. Just thankful,” he stated, describing the moment as both overwhelming and amazing.
