LeCun’s ambitions for AMI Labs extend beyond the confines of industrial applications. As they refine their JEPA model throughout this year, the hope is to demonstrate its effectiveness before expanding its use. “Eventually, we’ll have general intelligence systems that can be applied to just about anything with minimal training,” he explains.

As AI technology advances, the question of human roles in this new landscape arises. LeCun reassures us that even in a world where robots operate independently, humans will still play a crucial role in shaping the future. “We’re still going to need humans to figure out what questions to ask,” he asserts.
