Nutritionist Rob Hobson highlighted the importance of finding a balance, suggesting that individuals can establish a core set of meals to rotate, thus providing structure without sacrificing nutritional diversity. “Having a core set of go-to meals that you rotate regularly can provide structure and make healthy eating easier while still allowing for enough variety across the week to meet nutritional needs,” he stated.

Despite the promising findings regarding meal repetition, experts warn against adhering to a monotonous diet indefinitely. Pearson cautioned that while repetition may facilitate short-term weight loss, long-term health is best supported by a varied diet. “Different foods provide different nutrients, and a more varied diet supports a more diverse gut microbiome, which is linked to better metabolic health, digestion, and even appetite regulation,” she noted.
