Keir Starmer has asserted that the United States is attempting to meddle in British democracy following remarks by JD Vance, the US Vice President, who linked the murder of British teenager Henry Nowak to mass migration. This stark rebuke from the Prime Minister’s office comes in the wake of Vance’s controversial post on social media, which many in the UK perceive as an unwarranted intrusion into domestic affairs.
Vance’s Claims Spark Outrage
In a statement on X, Vance suggested that Nowak would still be alive if European leaders had resisted what he termed the “mass invasion of migrants.” This assertion has been met with widespread condemnation. A spokesperson from Downing Street refrained from naming Vance but emphasised that recent comments aimed at stirring division in Britain would not be tolerated. “The Nowak family is currently grieving a horrific loss. They have expressed a desire for their son’s death not to be politicised further,” the spokesperson stated, highlighting the need for unity during such a tragic time.
The national response to Nowak’s death has been intense, especially after disturbing footage emerged showing police officers handcuffing him as he succumbed to stab wounds inflicted by his assailant, Vickrum Digwa. Digwa, a British-born
