In the UK, there is no legal upper age limit for IVF, which contrasts with several European nations that have established age restrictions. Women up to age 36 can donate or share their eggs, while NHS guidelines recommend three cycles of IVF for women aged 40 and under, and one cycle for those up to 42. However, the financial burden of using donor eggs often falls on patients, as this aspect of treatment typically requires self-funding.
