Ahkari Bowen was apprehended last week and faces multiple firearms-related charges linked to attacks on the homes of GIP executives, highlighting a concerning trend of aggression against prominent figures in the waste management sector.

Bowen was arrested following a shooting on March 22, where he allegedly fired a .40-calibre handgun at the residence of Sean Goldberg, a senior figure at GIP, located in Toronto’s Cedarvale neighbourhood. Subsequent charges were laid by York Regional Police concerning another shooting that occurred on March 25, targeting the mansion of Paul Borrelli, another GIP executive, in Woodbridge, Ontario. The police reported that Bowen was apprehended shortly after the second incident, which involved a vehicle accident near Borrelli’s home.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either shooting, but the attacks have raised alarms within the community.
