The attack occurred as the team was returning from a Ghana Premier League match against Samartex, marking a dark day for the sport in the region.

Reports indicate that the incident involved six masked assailants, armed with firearms and assault rifles, who ambushed the team bus. The robbers blocked the vehicle’s path and opened fire as the players and staff attempted to escape.
