Following the collision, the stolen vehicle was abandoned approximately one kilometre south of the bridge, at the intersection of Floyd Avenue and Donlands Avenue. The 12-year-old driver was apprehended shortly thereafter on Mortimer Avenue, just a block away from where the vehicle was left.
