When pressed on his readiness to assume the nation’s top role, Polanski was straightforward. “I’m not ready right now. No. I’ve been leader for eight months, and there’s lots of skills and lots of knowledge to get,” he admitted. But when asked if he might consider a bid for Prime Minister in two years, Polanski offered a tantalising glimpse of ambition: “Well, we’ll see in two years’ time, won’t we?
